It was after midnight when the doors closed and overnight security engaged at the Wexford Elections Count Centre at St. Joseph’s Community, Wexford, but the breaking drama surrounded a return today when recounts were called for Enniscorthy, Gorey and Rosslare.
Kilmuckridge, Wexford and New Ross are complete and will be celebrating today, but recounts will take place following intervention and concerns amongst those locked in close battles. The big question is can a recount make any difference?, There are just a handful of votes separating some of the final seats and that is where the recount focuses.
Gorey had completed its tally on the 10th Count. Enniscorthy had reached the 6th Count. Rosslare also on the 6th Count.
